F G Sushi in Forest Grove

We visited this sushi place when traveling through oregon. SO glad we stopped! Such good food and great customer service!! If we ever visit this area again you bet we will be back for more!

Wondering if previous reviewers have ever eaten really good sushi fare? This place is mediocre at best. Previous reviews were right, slow service ordering and 30 minutes to receive our order with only 5 parties dining at tables. Our drinks came only moments before our order arrived. As for the food: tempura batter tough and chewy with overcooked veggies. Beware of chefs special tempura shrimp roll, only a small piece of shrimp tail at either end of roll (very misleading description) for the more expensive roll. Smoked salmon handroll was soggy. The octopus was tasty and tender and potstickers were fair. Asked our server about the tempura shrimp roll with no real pieces of shrimp except the inedible tails on ends. She spoke with the chef and told us the roll should have had shrimp throughout the roll. Not even an offer to remake the roll. Overall poor experience. Definitely will not be returning.

Great food and good staff

Choi the owner is amazing I know her from Salem, J’s Teriyaki. 9 years and counting. The food is amazing delicious. Prices are great!! Can’t beat the lunch special 5.95! Best customer service. Family friendly. Did I mention the foods delicious.

Tried for the first time today as my son would go there all the time for sushi. I do not like sushi and opted for the chicken yakisoba. It was delicious, so fresh tasting and enough for 2 people or 1 really hungry one. I walked in and ordered and was out the door in less then 15 minutes. Very friendly and will definitely try again

Solid bento lunch here. Nothing mind blowing but still good. I'd like to try the sushi next time.

Small sushi place we love to frequent. We sat in a table right behind the front door and it was perfect for our group of 3. The prices are reasonable and everything tastes good.

Man they pick up the phone so quickly I didnt even hear it ring once. Excellent customer service!

I have first hand experience and have worked in the food industry for a long time.Emploees dont wash hands in between using the cash register etc and serving food. There is no dishwasher, dishes are washed by hand so they are barely sanitized. The food tastes great but they seem to not invest in necessary things.

My grandkids loved the Hawaiian rolls. Prices are reasonable for sushi.

We always love the food. We need more restaurants like this.

The new ownership has abandoned the quality of their menu items that made the restaurant so popular by the previous owners. Reducing the quality to improve the profits is not a recipe for future success. So we won't be going back.

This place is wonderful. Tasty on the palette. Seriously the food the delicious. The staff is astounding. Friendly beyond helpful. Clean establishment.

We absolutely love this place. We're not big sushi lovers but if they were all like F G we might just be. Try different things almost every time and have never been disappointed.

About the best food I have had in a long time

Their chicken teriyaki is the best! And their prices are very affordable, however I recently tried their sushi, and was pretty disappointed, the rice in the rolls seemed over cooked and the proportion for the rice to filling was off (the filling was very very small) the salmon was dry and overall the whole thing did not have very good taste.

Great food. Caring service. Maybe a little over priced. But I will be back. Their lunch specials look amazing.

FG sushi has since my very first trip years ago, remained my favourite restaurant in all of Forest Grove and possibly in all the cities I've lived, from their super fresh sushi, the excellent salad, and all of the dishes I've ordered, it's always been a treat to eat there and I always have left satisfied and impressed time after time

Mediocre sushi that gave me food poisoning. Weird vibe. Thai iced tea is WAY too sweet. All of the workers were very nice but everything else about this restaurant 👎

Delicious food, great service, and affordable. Just make sure to double check that they are open because a couple of the times I've tried to go they were closed. It was probably bad timing on my part, and I think they post on Facebook the unusual times they are closed. Definitely worth checking out!

After being seated 20 minutes passed before we were even approached by a waitress. 30 minutes later we got my sons order, but I waited another 15-20 minutes for mine. At that point he was done eating and we had been there over an hour so I just boxed mine up and left. They need to hire more staff to keep up with business so that service and food quality don't suffer. This isn't my first or second time leaving disappointed, and I will not return.

Food was great, customer service was amazing! Edamame wasn't ready until we were done eating but got complimentary pot stickers!

Definitely 1 of our FAVORITE sushi restaurants! I always call ahead & it's ready when you get there! If they're busy, there's a lil bit of a wait to pay, but the food is totally worth it! We LOVE their Crispy Cream Rolls, Spicey 2 Me Rolls, 911 & the Monkey Brain (as long as the avocados are perfect..)!! Yummy!

Amazing food!! Kind staff, quick preparation

I would love to leave a food review but never got the chance to sample the menu. By my rule, if I have to wait more than 10 minutes to be served, exit door right. I would be more than happy to come back again as it appeared the menu had some affordable sushi rolls, but way too many items on the menu. Keep it simple. With three people working behind the sushi bar in the back, one young lady attempting to handle it all was more than frustrated. No one seem to make the time to even answer the phone ringing in the background. So one star review for no service and one additional star feeling sorry for the young lady.

The owner ( or I believe she is the owner ) so amazing!!! Sweet lady, always makes sure we are taken care of. Best place to ever go for sushi!!!

The sushi is really affordable and delicious. The manager is incredibly kind. The new look is refreshing and fun. By far the best sushi place I've been to!

My wife and I came here before going to a wedding in the area, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The inside is clean, both comfy and traditional feeling. Now, the food, the food food food was amazing! I got the volcano roll, it's a hot, cream cheesy baked roll of wonderful with baked salmon on top! The fish is so fresh! The food reflects how fresh the ingredients are and is all the better for it. I have every intention on coming here more and more. Oh, and the price is very affordable. A full roll for 10 dollars or less. Satisfaction!

FG Sushi has now owners, the menu is the same. The new owners changed the seating layout and it looks great. All in all, still 5 star.

Do not get takeout here! I got takeout here back in March, and got really terrible food poisoning and was sick for a good few days. I also have ate in house, and it was pretty lackluster. They also barely fill their sushi.

Very low quality of preparation, tempura was thick and oily, heavy sauce on sushi rolls. You get what you pay for.

I have rated this place 5 stars in the past but had to update my rating. The original owner sold and the food just isn't as good as it used to be.

3.5 stars. I was greeted when entering, but then no further instructions were given... "Sit wherever", "we'll be right with you"... So I took the initiative and noticed there is a sushi bar in the back, perfect! I placed my order with the chefs, who were running the show in my opinion, and the time it took was appropriate, and the sushi was good. I did, however, have to endure 25 minutes of commercial-ridden electro-pop played at a slightly offensive level. Sushi and pop music do not mix, unless it's 80's.

Popped in for lunch today. Small dining room . The food was really good. Got the orange chicken and teriyaki chicken specials with a california roll for 18 bucks! Really hard to beat the price for the quality of the food provided. Nice selection of sake and beer available too. Def going to be back again.

Love the lunch special, cheap and tasty. They have good food for those who don't like fish. And plenty of sushi too.
